In "Rudy Garcia-Tolson" by Ann Weil the main idea of this biography is how Rudy Garcia-Tolson is a hero. In this book it talks about how Rudy was born with birth defects to his mouth, hands and legs. Even though he had a disability he was able to prevail once he got new legs. The new legs helped him try new things such as running, swimming and walking. After some practice Rudy started to complete in triathlons and soon enough he was winning them at the Paralympic Games. This book is a leveled reader book. The main idea of the text is about Rudy Garcia-Tolson's life. Each chapter of the book highlights different parts of Rudy's life. It explains how he was born with a birth defect where he had problems with his legs, mouth, and arms. Rudy was having a hard time walking and at a young age, decided to have his legs amputated. He was given prosthetic legs which allowed him to walk again. Over time Rudy learned how to use his new legs and eventually even swim. show more He practiced so much and became so good that he made it as a Paralympic swimmer. He won medals while at the games. He was an inspiration to many others with prosthetic limbs. This is a great beginning chapter book for young students. Second book in the series "Top Ten Landmarks", I read it by a coincidence as my son was already reading them, it was supposed to be a quick read that I will not log into goodreads due to it's very small size
and it toke only about 10 minutes to read but it was actually nice, and contained good information, not as good as the first book in that series but still it was good
