Pretty and fun to read, this book is still a bit impractical. In my enormous metro area, I've been unable to find live moss for sale, even at some of the gardens stores with the widest inventory. Yet this book's designs rely heavily on it. I now notice moss at parks and people's yards, but the parks are off limits and the yards still require sanitizing the moss, after making strange requests of neighbors and friends.
The ideas the book suggests are fun, though I can't personally commit to show more scouring yard sales and antique stores for figurines for terrariums. I'm more of a plant-only person, I guess. The specific and detailed directions have been helpful, and so far my terrarium is looking healthy and attractive. show less
