Kellen St. James needs to rescue Cali, the love of his life, from being kidnapped by the Star Catcher. If that isn’t enough a war is on the horizon.
I really like Kellen St. James. He has undergone a lot before book 3, The Star Catcher even starts: he finds out he is a Fae prince; his fiancé is kidnapped, and he is named in a prophecy. He seems to handle everything that is thrown at him pretty well. He grows throughout the novel and remains a good person.
I enjoy that the story is told from show more multiple viewpoints. This especially works for this story because so much is going on in numerous places.
Stephanie Keyes does a great job creating a remarkable universe. I especially enjoy the various stars. The Star Catcher is an imaginative story that is rather unique. There are a lot of actions that keep you interested throughout the novel.

The Star Catcher by Stephanie Keyes is a superb conclusion to her Star Child series. I had the pleasure of reading all three books, and I'll be honest with you, it's been quite a while since I've read a Young Adult series that I felt was written fluently and I actually enjoyed as a whole. Stephanie Keyes' style of writing is easy for readers to understand, but that doesn't take away from the show more content at all. Through the Star Child series, she grabs her readers by the hand and escapes into a world of adventure, sacrifice, mystery, and most of all, indefatigable love.
In this series we meet Kellen St. James (okay, how awesome is that name?) on his graduation day. Kellen has been the victim of the most unfortunate circumstances: his mother is dead. His father is a rich snob who wants nothing to do with him. He is very much alone, aside from his 'Gran' who lived all the way across the globe until her death 3 months earlier. The only hope he has is a dream that has materialized into an experience and he isn't even sure if it's real.
As we travel through Star Child and The Fallen Stars, Keyes brings fantasy to a whole new level. By the end of the second book (which ends on a huge cliffhanger, BTW!) my mind was reeling. She had a way of adding just the perfect amount of intrigue that kept me wanting more. Just when you think you have most things figured out, she throws a curveball at you and mixes things up again.
The newest book, The Star Catcher, did not disappoint. Usually I find that in a series that one book lacks in content, or the author seems to have completely rushed the ending (this happens way more often than I wish it would. Note to authors: Keep going strong until the very end!). I was extremely pleased to find that the momentum of the story kept up until I turned that last page. This results in major brownie points for authors in my book! But anyway, I thought this was a great series. The only thing I would make a note of is the beginning of the first book started out a little slow. That isn't to say that nothing happened, but we didn't really get into the story until about a quarter way through. Other than that, I thought this was a great series.
If you're looking for a Young Adult series that is rich in content and will take you on a magickal journey of love and sacrifice with a touch of plot twisted pandemonium, then you need to run to the store and grab this series...you will love it! Oh, and you'll even enjoy looking at these GORGEOUS covers! I could just stare at them all day. I hope to see more from this author in the near future! show less

I have to be honest and say that I am a girl that judges a book by its cover (I know I should be ashamed). When I got an e-mail to review the third book in this series, I loved the cover of the third book and thought, “Let’s give this series a chance and start reading it.” I got the first book and started reading immediately. I do not regret reading this story at all. It has everything a Fantasy/Paranormal story has: faeries, gods, goddess’, prophecies, evil guys, underworld, show more hellhounds…it’s packed!
This story takes Kellen St. James into a wonderful and daring journey. He has lived his life feeling unwanted by his dad and his brother, only having his grandma’s love and attention. He graduates and finally moves out on his own, where he meets Calienta, a goddess. They had met long ago and seeing each other again, brings back emotions they didn’t know they really had. Calienta introduces Kellen to the prophecy, telling him he is the one that will combat evil and win—he doesn’t believe so, seeing as he is an ordinary human boy. Once the journey starts, he realizes that he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else than to be with Calienta and help her save her family in an unknown world.
The description of the whole story comes to life before the reader’s eyes—it’s so vivid and wonderful to imagine everything so clearly. Kellen decides to help Calienta save her family and he stays brave throughout it all, he stays truthful to himself, never straying from the path of good. Something that caught my attention a lot was how willingly the gods are to give up immortal life—become mortal so they can be with the love of their life, who are mortal humans. It’s touching and beautiful, altogether. It also shows how willing one can be to want to help others, even in the fantasy realm. show less

*Sigh* What can I say about this third and final installment in The Star Child series. Nothing much, actually, except to say that I absolutely am in love with the story and the characters and just every aspect of this wonderful piece of work.
To be honest, I had never heard of The Star Child series of books before getting the opportunity to read this book. So when I was also given the first two along with this last one, so that I could start from the beginning and gain a better perspective of show more what I would be reading with this third book in the series, I absolutely dove in with great vigor.
So much has been revealed throughout this entire series, things pertaining to Alex and his lineage, Calienta and her own lineage, a prophecy pertaining to the two and the fate of the Children of Danu, and secrets that have been kept for years. And even with this last part of the story, there will be twists and turns to satisfy the reader while also trying to tie up loose ends.
This book is written in many different points of view, giving us an almost 360 perspective of what is going on. I love this. Mainly because we get to know what each character is going through and their general thoughts about their situations. We get to delve into their minds. YAY! I LOVE DELVING!!
I also love the fact that Gabe is given a little love interest in this book. Okay, so maybe it is a BIG love interest, but still...it's kinda cute.
Alex and Calienta will have to fight if they want to be reunited, and the fate of the world depends on them winning that fight. I LOVE IT!! But the thing is, they have so much support from the people they love. I BELIEVE IN THEM!!!
Overall, I absolutely have enjoyed this series and this last book especially, and I just know from the bottom of my heart that this author is going to wow us even more with future works.
There are basically no more words for this book. Well, at least two more. They are literally chanting in my head at this very moment. "Read it! Read it!" So please, listen to the voices stating those words in my mind. Pick up this book...this series...and tuck in for a beautiful ride. show less
