There are many children’s storybooks based on the Bible that I am disappointed in: they tend to not be true to the text, needlessly simplistic, or just plain poorly written. But I have to admit that The First Step Bible charmed me from the very first time I read it to my son over a decade ago. It is designed for babies & toddlers, with simple repeating words & phrases and colorful illustrations arranged in 37 short stories. It’s not a course in systematic theology, but appropriately show more teaches the age appropriate lesson of God’s love and care for us. It’s a beautiful book to read to your child read again and again, in small or long sections depending on their attention span. When they’re older, it changes to a “I can read this myself!” book that still delights. It’s a great way to start planting seeds of the nature of God in their souls. show less

This is perfect for toddlers and preschoolers. Bible stories are told simply and with cute illustrations. My children have loved our copy to pieces!

Excellently cute. My son loved the story about Samuel
