More of a pamphlet than a 'book', but a great introduction to Colleen Moore's doll house, which is now located in the Museum of Science and Industry. Quirky little treasures abound in the doll house, and just a few of these stories are told. Best to see it in person, but this little book will bring back good memories.
Very entertaining book. Like hearing her tell a bed-time story about her career. The closest thing she left to a diary. There, however, inaccuracies: dates and locations are wrong or mixed up. Colleen wrote the book after the death ofher husband Homer. It was "ghost-written" by her friend Adela Rogers St. Johns... she probably made notes and Adela formed the notes into the book... this can be seen in the captions for the photographs, where they are sometimes "Photograph of me and show more S0-and-so..." and sometimes "Colleen Moore and So-and-so." show less
One of my most favorite books from junior high! I loved miniatures. I suppose I still do, I have a box full of them. I have quite a collection but nothing to compare to this spectacular miniature castle.
I would open the pages, and just stare at the pictures and dream. I'd imagine all the little people inhabiting this world. I imagined me in this world.
Practically the best book ever.
