Jessie (h) believes she's won a dream vacation on a space cruise, only to discover it's a facade for an alien-human trafficking operation. Barely escaping abduction, Jessie returns to New Terra determined to expose the traffickers. However, her efforts are complicated when she meets Maxx (H), a mysterious alien claiming to be an agent for the galactic government. Maxx, on a covert mission to dismantle the trafficking ring, finds Jessie's interference problematic as it threatens to undo his show more investigation. Despite his initial intention to keep her out of harm's way, their forced proximity sparks an undeniable attraction, leading to a complicated mix of conflict and cooperation. As Jessie and Maxx navigate a web of government betrayal and corruption, they must learn to trust each other to prevent the mastermind behind the trafficking from causing further damage. Jessie's and Maxx have to overcome their preconceptions about each other and their respective races. Their growing relationship, plays out against a backdrop of high-stakes intrigue and danger, even as things heat up between the two. Hot and steamy alien-human romance with plenty of action, drama, and mystery. show less

Illumina, trying to outrun her past, has ended up on Deceptio, a barren moon that hides Dale Homme's Moonbeam remanufacturing operation underground. He's looking for someone who's a computer whiz and won't mind the restrictive working environment, and there's a last-minute addition to the list of applicants. One Illumina Smith. Illumina immediately catches Dale's eye and he decides to interview her show more first. And thus their amazing connection begins.

I was so excited to read Dale's story after meeting him in Mated with the Cyborg! There's nothing more attractive than a man with sensitivity and Dale definitely ticks that box. He can immediately sense that Illumina is a damsel in distress and wants to help her (amongst other things). That said, though, Illumina is the most engaging and likeable character I've come across in a while and my favourite in this series so far. She's in heaps of trouble but won't burden others with her problems, and her indomitable spirit and tenacity are a joy to behold.

I revelled in the gradual growth of Dale and Illumina's relationship. It may have seemed that their first meeting was fated and would follow a much-travelled path but, despite their feelings and yearnings, they earned each other's respect and the red-hot sexy times then came naturally and not as a foregone conclusion. Sharing Dale and Illumina's journey to their HEA was therefore so much more rewarding and memorable...as in read and enjoy again, which I rarely do.

As with the previous books in the series, there's no shortage of adventure and excitement, not to mention the odd truly malicious villain. Deceptio may not be an ideal place to work, but the author's wonderful cast of characters and their camaraderie bring their world, and beyond, to life.

Astrobiologist Gayle (h) is tasked with unraveling the mysteries of sentient sand on the desert planet Sajave. But there's a catchβ€”her bodyguard and protector on this mission is none other than her ex-husband, Axel (H), a Cyborg Force member. The tension between Gayle and Axel, still grappling with unresolved feelings and complex dynamics, adds depth as they navigate personal history amid their professional duties. The tension crackles as they work through past hurts while navigating show more imminent challenges, dangerous terrain, and shady political games surrounding the planet's discoveries. Gayle's scientific curiosity and Axel's protective nature, create relatable and multifaceted protagonists who have a second chance at love with one another. The exploration of an alien life form adds an intriguing layer, raising questions about its implications for Earth, adding suspense and mystery, as Gayle and Axel work to uncover the truth and deal with corrupt forces. Hot and steamy second chance romance blending suspense, passion, intergalactic mystery, and the enigma of extraterrestrial life. show less

Penelope Isabella Aaron (PIA...yeah, that too!) had crossed paths with Brock Mann 10 years earlier, and now regrets what she did to him. That doesn't mean she wants him as a bodyguard again, though. But when they're forced together in life-threatening circumstances, she gets to see him in a different light. Brock has suffered much in those 10 years, and initially views his latest "mission" with show more disdain. They're both in for some big surprises.

I love Science Fiction Romance and especially cyborg stories and, holy moly, does Stranded With the Cyborg deliver! It's short but ever so heartwarmingly poignant...and very steamy. I truly felt connected to Pia and Brock because their anguish and hurt is so vividly realised and relatable, which makes their HEA all the more awesome...and so deserving.

All of the elements I enjoy in Sci-Fi Romance and space opera are there: adventure-filled space travel, well-balanced and descriptive world building, political intrigue (no, actually I hate politics, but when it's set in outer space, it's enthralling!), engaging secondary characters whose actions help to propel the plot forward at high speed and, of course, a likeable kick-ass girl and a very sexy guy-turned-cyborg who's almost hot enough to melt his metal parts.

Stranded With the Cyborg is Book 1 in the Cy-Ops Sci-Fi Romance series, and the next book, and hopefully more, can't come soon enough for this Sci-Fi Romance aficionado. Definitely on the auto-buy list.
