Devoured by Emily Snow
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
First and foremost - the male cover model for this book (among so many others) is Dusan Novakovic.
Okay - Devoured by Emily Snow is a somewhat steamy romance novel about a rock star, Lucas Wolfe, and his one that got away, Sienna Jensen. I went into this book loving it. Yeah, Sienna was a little whiny and Lucas was a bit of an ass-hat, but you just know it's going somewhere. There cannot be a happy ending if the book starts out with nothing to show more improve on. I read some of the reviews that were complaining about the insecurities of Sienna or whatever. I disagree, but then I'm not an overly critical person. Not always a good thing if you make a habit of posting reviews. Oh well.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked the crappy family life and the overcoming adversity and the tortured souls etc. Sienna has her funny moments...
This is the second time this evening I’ve felt bad for offending Kylie and if this time is anything like the first, she’s about to punch me square in the vagina.
There's enough sexual tension between Lucas and Sienna to drive you crazy...
Lucas spears a fork into his salad and takes a bite. I study the way he chews—slow, deliberate movements. Tiny flicks of his tongue that causes my body to burn. He turns eating, something that is so basic, into a seductive art. I catch myself sinking my teeth into my own lip as I imagine him drawing it in between his teeth.
and...
And I find myself wanting to wake-up. Wanting to open my eyes and kiss him. Wanting him to devour me just a little more.
I am definitely eagerly awaiting the release of book two, Consumed show less

I really liked Sienna’s character. She is warm, sweet, caring, nurturing, kind, smart, and very endearing. Lucas Wolfe, is a sexy, domineering, controlling hot, knows what he wants arrogant rock star. Support characters Sienna’s roommate, grandmother, brother Seth, and Lucas’s sister Kellie are also very likable and real people , they round out the story wonderfully.
Sienna’s grandmother is going to lose her home in foreclosure ( Lucas has purchased it), and Lucas provides a way for show more Sienna to save it for her. She just has to be his personal assistant for 10 days. Sparks fly between Lucas and Sienna for many reasons; part of it a past evening years before, and now their simmering attraction.
The story is filled with a slow burning sexual tension that is just waiting to erupt. Once Sienna lets Lucas in, we see that Lucas is more into control and minor kink in the bedroom, as he brings Sienna’s feelings to places they have never gone before.
The story ends with Sienna and Lucas separating because of Lucas’s ex wife, but things will not end this way for long,
I eagerly await book two in the series as I’m dying to see how things progress and what Lucas’s ex has on him that allows her to control his life, more about the band, and Kellie.

I loved this book. It reminded me all over again of why I fell in love with New Adult books. Willow is 19 years old and just getting out of rehab, again. She has been acting for the biggest part of her life, and when she was 16 years old, something happened to her that changed her. It was easier to cope, to black out from it all, with alcohol and drugs after that. A whole lot easier than dealing with the pain. Her last stunt almost had her blacklisted in the Hollywood arena. Because of that, show more on her first day out of rehab, she finds herself at a meeting regarding a film, with the understanding that this might be in a "last chance before porn" type of situation, which she really didn't need to mess it up. It is here that she meets the oh so hot, cocky, sexy, smart ass, panty-dropping Cooper Taylor, attitude, accent, and all. Cooper is a surfing instructor in Hawaii, where Willow finds herself the next day. Cooper will be coaching her for the film, Tidal, which is a remake of the original. As bad as she doesn't want to be, Willow is extremely affected by Coopers voice, his touch, his everything. He makes it clear that his rule is that he doesn't have relationships with his clients, but as they soon find out, rules are made to be broken.
I loved Willow's character. She had been through so much, had messed up so badly, and she knows it, yet beats herself up so much over the things she has done. I loved watching her character develop over the course of this book, as she fights the addiction and begins to come to terms with it, with her life, and gradually opens herself up to love once again. She's a mess, but she she really wants to be fixed, and Cooper plays a big role in helping her get there. She doesn't have that "princess" attitude where she thinks she deserves everything. In fact, I found her to be quite humble. That doesn't mean she was always that way, but life's circumstances have brought her to this place. Cooper Taylor, now he is to die for. I loved him, smart mouth and all. He couldn't have been a better fit for Willow. First of all, he wasn't intimated by who she was in the slightest. He pushed her, challenged her, causing her to desire to do better. He protected her fiercely, and he also understood her. He was far from perfect to, and despite the sizzling chemistry between them, they had their issues to deal with, both having secrets, and both needing healing. The setting of the story was beautiful, and the story itself captured my attention from page one through the epilogue. Yes, there is a beautiful epilogue, which just made me feel so satisfied and complete after I read it. I love a good ending, and Emily Snow has provided just that in Tidal.
Overall, Tidal is a great romance with an interesting and captivating story line that is entertaining, heartwarming, and heartbreaking at times. I enjoyed Willow and Cooper's journey as they progressed through the story and dealt with everything that life and Hollywood had to throw at them. Was it easy for them? No, not by any means. Was it was worth it all? Yes, and it is beautiful. I definitely recommend Tidal to all New Adult Contemporary Romance fans. show less

Read it again and still love it! This is a seductive novel of an attraction that was meant to last. Through twists of fate, secrets best kept quiet, and romantic longing, Sienna and Lucas have to find their way. Cannot wait until the sequel comes out: Consumed!
