Once again Kindle Alexander has blown me away with a story that from the start you feel the connection leap off the page. Before we dive much further into the story - know this is not a motorcycle club trope read. Yeah, yeah, there is a club but its not the foreground story. For me, this story was a tried and true opposites attract romance and I LOVED IT!
Alec presents as the cocky, rich attorney. Everything in place and perfect. He has the perfect car, perfect house, perfect hair but not show more the perfect love life. He is in a position of media exposure. It's not the perfect set up to attract a lover especially when you like the bad boys.
Keyes presents as the gruff, closed off mechanic. His life is full of hard work, grease and his 'family'. He is in a position where he just needs to keep his head down, hands clean to make his life better. It's not the perfect set up to attract a lover especially when you feel like there is no room.
But as Kindle Alexander unveils the layers to these characters you learn there is so much more to them. They offer up their soft bellies of vulnerability you cannot help but fall in love with. They have that 'instalove' attraction I am a sucker for but can't stay away from because how-can-two-guys-from-opposite-sides-of-the-tracks-work? This is a story of opposites finding a way to find their piece of heaven in each other. I loved learning each piece of what made the characters tick and how they unveiled their relationship fears to the other. Both characters are surprising because you anticipate one 'type' and Ms. Alexander delivers something different. But perfect. I think that most readers will click on the story expecting maybe a typical crime and suspense - they will be happily surprised. The story is beyond what their life roles define them as. There is secondary storylines that are impactful but Kindle Alexander guides the path so the reader gets a better understanding of who they are and who they would love to be. This story flowed perfectly for a day to read it in one sitting.
This title is part of series however Havoc does end on a HFN to be read as a standalone. But if you are like me, you know there is way - WAY - more to their story to come.
--- And I can't wait!

I recently commented that I was a fluffy butt reader. When I described what that is I illustrated as "guarantee HEA, just enough story tension to keep you engaged, plenty of steam and leave you with a big ol' grin". Now I wish I could have said "Read Reservations". Because Kindle Alexander delivers this with a check in every box plus more!
Normally I finish a book with a newly minted book boyfriend in my posse. Damn, seriously I cannot choose. First I was all over Levi - because cute boy show more next door and firm family values. And Thane was being well...an unintentional jerk but I still wanted to kick his ass. However, Kindle Alexander gives us a Pinocchio transformation in Thane that you can't help but want him to win his man! * Swoon * And Levi...yeah don't let those innocent looks fool you because HOT DAMN!
As a huge fan of all the previous books, it's a joy to see characters you've previously loved hop into the story. However, Kindle Alexander doesn't feel like you've missed out if you've not previously read. As always, they bring characters to full life and give the reader an experience of these wonderful secondary characters. All these characters lend to the story the necessary ingredients to keep you flipping page after page. Especially Julian - which HINT he needs his story next!
If you are new to Kindle Alexander and looking for something to make your heart happy, dive right into this read. If you are a fan, you won't be disappointed with yet another love story that will leave you grinning. 5 out of 5 stars. show less

Good characters, good start to this trilogy covering mystery attacks and the investigations. At the time of writing this review, I have finished reading the trilogy. I actually started with the third one, my personal favorite.
In this one, I loved Jace, Colt doesn't deserve him (but he knows it, so he gets a point for that). Their love timeline is harsh, to me, but overcoming it felt realistic. There are some habits the author has that I don't care for, but as I read this whole trilogy show more anyway, obviously they aren't that important. show less

Motorcycle clubs are not one of my favorite subjects, but this one was fairly mild, and it was a good group of guys...well except for Keye's father. Luckly, he didn't have much time in the story except at the very first. Alec is an upcoming DA whose father has high aspirations for him to become a judge. He doesn't want any part of it. Why it just didn't tell his father to get lost was beyond me. This is only the first book in the series so maybe he will grow a backbone in the next book. show more Keyes is a biker. Together they are pretty explosive. I really liked Keyes. I liked him as a person and his attitude toward life in general. Their chemistry is explosive creating enough sparks to burn down the entire town. They each thought they were too different, but actually they aren't all that different except in their bank accounts. They do start to communicate more by the half-way point of the story. It took me a little while to get into this book...even though I was I was more than invested in Alec and Keyes story. Alec's friend can use some work...but maybe he'll drop him by the second book. We can only hope. The story is told from a duel POV, which is easy to read. I like getting into both characters heads. I really hope book 2 has more of the answers to Alec and Keys relationship and what Alec intends to do about a position that he never wanted. I believe there is 3 or 4 ore books in the series and I am anxiously waiting for the climax. Glad I picked it up. As I said it's not something I would normally read. show less
