The authors of this book got engaged during their sojourn in Ireland. These adorable pictures, taken on their trip, attest to the universal truth that dogs are the same the world over, always photogenic and lovely, even the scruffy ones. Accompanying the pictures are wise words of blessings and clever observations. Though brief in pages, this book is long on wisdom and entertainment. These words go with a couple of adorable dog photos: “When times get cold and wet, may your dreams stay show more warm and dry,” and “May the smile on your face get bigger every day.” That’s my wish for all my reader friends. show less
These essays offer a fascinating time capsule of the concerns of the late 70s/early 80s (Jonathan Borofsky! The Times Square show! Neo-expressionism!). And Levin's writing is very accessible, generally free of academic jargon--think of her as Jerry Saltz avant la lettre.
Pretty much a cute and quick read. If you like cats and little sayings about marriage and relationships, you will probably enjoy this.
In her first book of cat photographs, Levin demonstrates her gift for capturing the essence of animals through beautifully rendered photos and playful words.
