For a fan work, it followed the structure and flavor of official clanbooks really well. I was fascinated with this bloodline/clan since I encountered one in the theater in VtM-B and information about them is scattered horribly across half a dozen sourcebooks - having everything in one place is convenient and makes for a fun read.

Compared to the official books, it does suffer a little.
-It is far more repetitive. This is probably unavoidable given the incredibly short history of the show more bloodline. We don't get a multi-millennia globe-spanning backstory with these vamps.
-There's more typos than usual. Note that I said 'than usual.' Even the official revised books are riddled with typos. This one just has more.
-There's far less illustrations (again, understandable given its fan-based with less resources to draw upon)
-The sample characters are very limited. Their descriptions are far slimmer, they have no illustration, and no sample character sheet. They are also very 'same-y' compared to the variety of character archetypes seen in sample characters in other clanbooks, which is odd given the wide variety of birthing methods, belief systems, and casts the gargoyles come in. I couldn't tell if this was due to limitations in space/resources, or if the authors wrote themselves in a bit of a corner by having so many ingrained psychological and personality traits in the clan.

My takeaway was that this clan is really interesting and rife with the melodrama you'd want in a VtM character, but the limitations are so extreme I don't know how you would ever really get to play one as a PC.

This book wasn't as cool as I thought it was going to be. Many of the World of Darkness Source books are almost stories giving one all the info. This one was a lot drier. Lots of neat creatures and how they work into chronicles. This can be used as an addition to Dark Ages Mage, Dark Ages Vampire with some caution in Mage the Ascention, Vampire the Masquerade and can be modified slightly for the Werewolf games.
This is a handy book to have if you want to add new critters to any game in White Wolf's "World of Darkness" gameline.
