Having not seen the documentary that is meant to accompany this book, I can't say that I experienced the full extent that this book was surely meant to encompass. The photos and quotes were easy to appreciate in their quality and candidness, but when given the focus of only John Lennon (in comparison to the intertwining story of the entire Beatles group) the book comes off as more of an ode to his relationship with Yoko Ono. Sure, it defined much of his later life, and influenced his show more artistic career, but do we really need a whole book with the underlying message of "Yoko didn't break up the Beatles"? show less
The art kind of evokes that charm of the older days of comic strip toon art (Like Archie for example). Wherever Elvira goes, cheesy dialogue always follows but that's part of her character and fun. Nothing too special about this one, it sort of blends in the rest of what Elvira is known for if you are familiar with her stuff. However, George Romero does make something of a guest appearance- but I won't detail how. If you're an Elvira fan- give this one shot a shot. There's more Elvira comics show more out there that are better than this one, but what would it hurt to read this one? show less
