This was the text in my fathers English lit survey class he had to take working towards his M.Sc. in epidemiology at Pitt in 1956. It was also very influential on me as a child reader. It was where i first encountered Sherlock Holmes, Groucho Marx, Ogden Nash, O. Henry, Robert Service, limericks, and the concept of puns.
