Chien Bleu (Blue Dog) tells the story of a young girl without many friends who meets a blue friendly dog. They become fast friends until the girl's mom, who doesn't want any pets around the house and who doesn't really trust the blue dog to be clean or trustworthy, forbids the girl from seeing the dog. In a sudden turn of events the dog proves his loyalty and the mom changes her mind.

This story would be a good one for teaching the elements of a story, like setting, characterization, rising show more action, climax, and resolution. I think it would work well for this because the plot follows a standard story arc, and in addition the illustrations really enhance the plot. So, for example, the illustration for the climax uses some really bold and vivid colors with some powerful lines that depict struggle and movement. It is very clearly the high-point of the story arc. Using this book for a mini-lesson on the elements of a story would be effective, I think. show less

Un livre très connu, un incontournable des médiathèques. Et pourtant je n’accroche pas. C’est la deuxième fois que je le lis, et non, vraiment, j’ai beaucoup de mal. Je ne comprends pas bien cette histoire. Que représente ce chien bleu ? Je n’arrive pas à comprendre la métaphore. Il faudrait que j’essaie de le lire à des enfants pour voir comment ils réagissent. Faut-il juste se laisser bercer par la jolie histoire d’amitié improbable mais forte ? Pour l’instant, je show more le laisse de côté et ne le donnerai pas à lire à mes élèves, en attendant l’inspiration. show less
