Oceans is a part of the Insiders series published by Simon & Schuster. The book is very attractive from cover to cover and will certainly invite children to examine every page. The structure of the book is well thought out and the information goes deep enough to support upper-elementary research.
Oversize book. Incredible photography alongside clear explanations of biological processes and their part in disease. Fascinating photos of what we were taught in school.
This is a good book because it is well organized, well written, and has great visuals to support the text. The book starts of with a table of contents. This is a great feature to have because it allows a reader to go exactly where they need to. It then breaks each page into topics and subtopics so anything specific is labeled. The information is also explained in terms appropriate for the audience. If there is a term that may be unfamiliar or more difficult, it is defined somewhere on the show more page. The information is also explained with realistic visuals and photographs. For example, on the page describing the sharks' insides, there are diagrams and other visuals with captions to further explain.
