I have carried about six different Bibles since September 7, 1978. My first "big" one was the Ryrie Study Bible. Wonderful if you want insights that are particularly fundamental Baptist (my opinion). Nothing wrong with that, so long as you are aware of it. Second two were Life Application Study and Nelson's Study. Both wonderful, as was the Ryrie. Now I carry this one. I did my homework and wanted one that was as close to the original as possible. I've been very happy with this as well as show more the specific translation. If this was available in ESV, I would have purchased that translation instead. You can be comfortable with the accuracy of this version and translation. show less
I really enjoy this study tool by Zodhiates. He gives an extended definition of the greek word as opposed to just a sentence or so in a concordance. He also gives the defintion put in its original context, but one must trust the author to believe if he has determined the context correctly. I believe it's very valuable for word studies which can add more meaning to a passage and add meaning to those words you are unsure of.
A suberb study tool for the leader or lay person to enable an in depth study of the Bible. Most words have a Strong's number attached that links to a double dictionary that gives the definition of the work and its cultural usage at the time is was used in the writing of the scripture.
One of the very best bibles to study the meaning and original translation of the bible for those who are not literate in Greek and Hebrew.
