If you're not a birder, you may find this book hard to get into. I'm not, and I did. But once in, I was happy to be there. It's a journal of Knowler's year visiting Central Park daily, or almost daily. The year is 1982, the same year I moved to the city and it was interesting to be reminded how much more dangerous the city was then. 10 people murdered in Central Park that year. Good observation, good humor, interesting stories.
