2. Write the summary of the book.

Pictures and picture writing
When Egyptians printed pictures they were not trying to show what people really looked like. A picture was a kind of diagram. Egyptians believed that their pictures had magical powers.

Mummies and Medicines
The Egyptians thought that the dead needed their bodies as much as the living did. Caring for bodies was the work of priests. Most pictures were doctores, too. They prescribed medicines. They show more learned, by making mummies, how bodies work. Egyptian knowledge and understanding about anotomy and disease spread all over the Greek Empire when Alexander the Great conqured Egypt in 332-331 B.C.

3. Write your feelings about the book.

There are thousands of pieces of everyday papyrus letters, official reports, and essays. They tell us that the Egyptians told jokes, complained, quarreled, and sometimes behaved badly(See p 13).

They left not only important sentences, but also other things such as jokes. We can see they had a humor.

4. Write the words, phrases or sentences that impressed you most in the book and explain why they impressed you. Or you could write your questions about the book.

All hieroglyphic symbols began as pictures. One picture stood for one whole word......Word pictures also worked as sign for sounds(See p 13).

They used words, including pictures. It's the same as mailing cluture.
