Mike Oehler

Mike's book gives the opposite view to lots of other underground/semi-sunken housing books that rely on poured concrete and lots of mechanical earthworks. He uses wood, polythene sheeting and his muscles to do the work, resulting in some very low cost but surprising bright and homely structures.

It might be increasingly difficult to make such houses in the face of government regulation but they should provide plenty of ideas for layouts and construction techniques for those that can still get show more away with it. show less

This book, like Mr. Oehler's other work (the $50 and up underground house) thinks outside the box. There are fabulous insight and ideas on how to build a better greenhouse, My mother read this in under a day and I am lingering over it lovingly.
