As a certified organization-freak and a fan of minimalist design, I was ineluctably drawn to this book. I was, however, a bit disappointed when I read it. On the plus side, it does stress that minimalism is a way of life as well as an organizing principal. Many of us do have too much stuff in our houses, and too much choice in our lives (on this topic, watch psychologist Barry Schwart'z Ted talk on YouTube). It also has some practical ideas, most of which I have long since put into practice. show more But some of the ideas and suggestions in the book are too extreme for most readers, including me -- one cup per person, literally? Also, I found the book less well organized, and more repetitive than it should be. Interesting, but problematic. show less
Household Hacks: Cleaning Tips and Tricks To Save You Money, Time, and Energy When Cleaning Your House
From the very first one about turtle waxing your sink to keep it shiner longer I was hooked into reading the other things one can do
around the house to keep it clean and fresh smelling.
This will definitely be one book I'll be saving for reference!
The recipes are useful but I didn't find this very short book fun to read. Also, I question some of the claimed health benefits as there are no references to back them up listed in this book. Alternatively, we are talking about food. I'm pretty sure you won't hurt yourself by spreading food on your body.
