Peter Rogan

I'm working on something that involves the use of the Orions, and I decided that I'd like to know more about their culture. Unfortunately, the Internet's knowledge was limited, so I ended up tracking down this book, an old FASA RPG manual, plus its sister, Book of Deep Knowledge. Rogan is good at what he does: this book covers Orion history from 18,000 BCE (or stardate -200/00) up to the "present day", and it's an interesting one, as is the culture he's developed. All of it is extrapolated show more from just one live-action appearance of a genuine Orion, but it all still works pretty well, aside from the multiple skin shades. show less

After finishing the Book of Common Knowledge, I moved on to the second of these tomes about Orion history and culture. This one was shorter, covering aspects that the Orions typically don't reveal to outsiders. I really don't have anything to say about it that I didn't say about the first. I'm thinking of picking up some more RPG sourcebooks; I love worldbuilding, and a sourcebook is basically worldbuilding distilled to it purest essence.
