This is the book that all short cuts on log cabin are based on. Yes, it's true that some people don't like this method. However, for a beginner, to motor something out that looks so fabulous fast is likely what will get them to consider the next quilt because you have created a quilter!
This is a wonderful quilting book full of great patterns, with well written instructions and inspirational photos. But it is also a great book to read and admire, perfect as a coffee table book too! I loved reading all the history that was shared in this book. Once again, Eleanor did a fantastic job.

Eleanor has continued to show how very talented and inspirational she is, as well as giving from the heart. This book is truly a gift to all quilters, from her heart. I love it. There is an excellent insight on history of American quilts, as well as excellent patterns, photographs, visuals...all to inspire. I found many patterns in this book that would make excellent gifts, as well as quilts for my home. Love it.

What I like best about any book by Eleanor Burns is that she gives the fabric and materials requirements to make six or more sizes of the project using the quilt block. Color is also shown and she tells you how to make your own quilt journal to keep track of all of the fabrics you use in your projects. This book is clearly illustrated with color drawings and photographs. It could be used by a beginner all the way to an advanced quilter.
