I fell in love with this book because of the illustration on page 16. A young goat, pencil in hand, is craning its neck to look upside down at a book that's propped open on a stick. It illustrates the familiar "draw something upside down" beginning drawing exercise. There's something so winsome about that little goat, so funny about the pose. More intriguing sketches and artwork grace the rest of this book, a fine introduction to illustration that makes you want to whip out the sketchbook show more RIGHT NOW. show less
Once again an overly long book. The idea is there. A baby reindeer sneaks on board the sleigh and collects animals on the yearly trip. But there was a way to put this story in a shorter format with a cadence. The illustrations are lovely but don’t help shorten the wordiness of this story.
A bit of a fantasy. It's Thomas' fifth birthday, and he goes through some wild contortions and story to steal tastes of his cake and not get caught before times. Love the mouse suit!
