Four ducks head to the lake; three ducks dismiss Eric's worry about the lake monster. Illustrations show that there is, indeed, a monster in the lake, but the monster subverts Eric's expectations. At the end of their swim, the other three ducks remain oblivious to Eric's adventures. Very funny; a great read-aloud for a group that's attentive to illustrations.

This book "The Magical Life of Mr. Renny" is about Mr. Renny who paints different pictures and tries to sell them at a flea market, but he never sells any of his pictures. One day a customer turns his paintings into magical paintings, and these paintings come to life after Mr. Renny paints them. Mr. Renny thinks this is the best thing to happen to him, but eventually realizes the true meaning of his paintings. This story has a cute plot with a secret meaning. The secret meaning being that show more having everything is not always what you always wanted. This book is filled with beautiful, vivacious pictures. One can tell what the plot of this book is just by looking at the beautiful pictures. I loved reading this book with my son and he enjoyed it just as much as I did. This would also be a great book to read to in a classroom to teach children that having everything you always wanted does not always make you happy. This is a great book for children to read and listen to. show less
Super cute, humorous book that shows kids the importance of glasses while also delivering some laughs at story time.
Books about making the best of a situation and problem solving need to be utilized more. This book is perfect, and hilarious, of an elephant who, frankly, is the problem CAUSER and the problem SOLVER.
Plus it's an elephant and you know me and elephants ;)
