i enjoyed and even respected this much more than I expected. basically a chronological biography with only a paragraph om Duck Dynasty this opened with hints of darker subjects glossed over. this includes an institutionalized mother and older siblings so rough as to leave him scared of the dark. when discussing the family he made he is more forthcoming on subjects like infertility and his son's asperger's. there's much of his wit punctuated with "jack!" and much on his faith
If you don't like Uncle Si, then you probably won't like this, but if you're one of many people who love the quick-witted, quirky old codger, then this should be right up your alley. It's a behind-the-scenes look into one of t.v.'s most singular personalities and goes some way into explaining the Si-cology behind his fun-loving approach to life. But hey, don't take my word for it, Jack! Get yourself a blue Tupperware cup of iced tea, and settle in for some big ol' whoppin' lies that are show more guaranteed to pass the time in any duck blind. show less
This book surprised me. It started out with crazy stories that any family member might tell you that you smile, shake your head and think, no way did that happen.
Si shares bits of his childhood, his time in college, and Vietnam, how he met his wife and their life. The book ends with letters from his wife, daughter, and son.

I bought this book for my stepfather who is a Si Robertson lookalike (naturally, not by intent). It's a collection of Si's stories but also manages to tell his history in an entertaining way. It's a quick reading book.
