This is one the 10-year old brought home from the school library. She liked the photographs and trying to figure out how they made the letters.
Pilobolus' The Human Alphabet and Jay's ABC books both give children creative ways of learning the alphabet. The Human Alphabet is a book of just what the title says - pictures of human figures creating the words that coincides with the letter. This book allows the child to use their imagination in looking at the human figures and facial expressions to understand what word matches with the letter. Some of the pictures are a guess to me so I imagine children can come up with creative answers show more however there is an answer key in the back of the book. Imaginative and creative for preschool to elementary level learning the alphabet.
ABC: A Child's First Alphabet Book gives children a more straightforward look at the alphabet compared to The Human Alphabet. The illustrations are whimsical and simplistic and for each letter, an example is given: "Aa a is for apple." However the picture contains more objects associated with the letter than the one given so children will use their skills of perception to locate the remaining objects. Like The Human Alphabet, an answer key in the form of an index is given in the back of the book. For preschool to early elementary level.
