Clarke's Commentary Vol. Three: Genesis-Esther Containing the Old and New Testaments, the Text Carefully Printed from the Most Correct Copies of the Present Authorized Translation, Including the Marginal Readings and Parallel Texts : With a Commentary and Critical Notes Designed as a Help to a Better Understanding of the Sacred Writings; ... by Adam Clarke
This is, in my opinion, the best commentary I have ever seen on Holy Scripture. Adam Clarke spoke and read twenty languages fluently and he studied actual manuscripts of scripture in their original languages. His knowledge and understanding of the bible is superb. I recommend this set to any bible scholar or serious bible student. The trick, however, is getting your hands on it.
