Grim by M.K. Eidem
almost 5 stars
I hadn't read anything by this author before but when I saw that this book was ranked similarly to sci-fi romance books I'd read, I decide to try a sample then ended up purchasing it.
At it's heart, this is an enjoyable story if interactions between alien men and earth women are what you're wanting to read. Mars men want and need Earth women - favorite trope of mine.
The characters, plot and details are strongly developed and come together well. Grim, Lisa and their daughters show more create their happy ending, learning about each other and their cultures as the book progresses. The secondary characters are appealing. I'd love to read Kim and Wray's story sometime and see some of the other women find happiness as they shake up alien culture.
Word selection, grammar are not yet M.K.'s strength but will hopefully improve with time and practice.
The main reason for the 4 stars rather than 5 stars is the use of present tense throughout the story. Prior to this story, I would have said that tense didn't matter and that I primarily read for well developed characters and plot. But I did find the present tense jarring, creating a barrier against more complete submersion in the story.
Despite this, I have purchased M.K.'s other story, Cassandra's Challenge even though it also has the same tense issues. As long as plot and characters are interesting, I would purchase and read M.K stories in the future.

I think all the previous reviewers who complained about the editing might want to revisit their reviews because I suspect that the author redid this book because there were no problems that I could see.
This is a typical Mars-needs-women trope. Unlike most of them there isn't a LOT of weird alien sex and the woman who was "caught" isn’t TSTL. She is a widowed mother of two little girls who was snatched while visiting her 1-year dead husband's grave. She insists that the aliens take her show more back to get her kids (apparently, they only take unattached women and mistakenly took her thinking she wasn't a mother). The only alien who agrees to get her kids is Grim. He was considered an unworthy male because of the fact that he was scarred in an 8 on 1 battle that he won. Apparently, in his world the women are all total bitches and require the sun, moon, and stars to be happy. They don't treat the males well and the males are all simps. Grim gets the kids and within the next couple of days is totally in love with Lisa (the woman he got) and Lisa is totally in love with him.
Grim is the King of his planet and makes Lisa his queen. Lisa takes no BS and really doesn't jump to conclusions. All problems are solved quickly. No real conflicts that last long.
Good for a read but for me not worth a re-read. show less

Long awaited
If you like alien science fiction romance Ull does not disappoint. I have been waiting for Ull's story since Ynyr and Abby's. I read it in one sitting. One by one the Tornian males are coming to realize a strong female is an asset. Ull met his match in Trisha who definitely doesn't let him get away with his overbearing alien alpha ways. She challenges him to look deeper into the meaning of his actions and reactions. Will he realize what he has been given in time? Very show more entertaining continuation of the Tornians Series. show less

This is an extension of the Torian series, Wray,Grim etc. I would recommend you read the previous series first as there is a tie in in this book.
If you have read this author before you know her Male characters are possessive, respectful and faithful.
Nikhil is an amazing Hero. He is a large warrior so he has done hang up about his size and doesn't feel worthy.
It's a sweet story but also has a hard edge in the background involving some not very nice treatment from other races.
