Search for Silver Eagle was my favorite book in the Young Refugees series by Ed Dunlop. The adventures of Gretchen and Hans continue in Southern France as they work to save an injured Allied pilot from certain death behind enemy lines. The story is a page turner with lots of "harrowing chases and narrow escapes." It's also a story about how bitterness and hatred eventually lead to destruction and the redeeming power of forgiveness. The Young Refugee Series is a great historical fiction series set in Europe during WWII. The series follows siblings Hans and Gretchen as they try to help others escape the Nazis. Book three of the series finds our Hans and Gretchen helping to save Jews in Hungary. This book shows Hans and Gretchen's concern for others and Hans has the opportunity to share the gospel.
