'Dogs Are Better Than Men
They never brag about their ex's stunning cleavage.
They don't moan or sulk if you're a half-hour late.
They never tell you a Brazilian would really turn them on.
After her most recent disaster with the King of the Unrepentant Jerks, Isabel ''Izzy'' Palmer is finally convinced that the only male she truly needs in her life is Henry, her lovable part wolfhound, part who-knows-what. Henry's faithful, he adores her madly, and he's great fun to sleep with. So who needs the show more additional heartache?
But even armed with powerful knowledge and a new resolve, Izzy starts to feel that familiar itch ... and it's all because of Nick. He's a vet for goodness sake — confident, handsome and compassionate — if a bit rough around the edges. After teasing her about Henry's unusual looks and questioning her most recent choice in men, Nick then has the gall to turn halfway charming. But he doesn't stop at halfway, and though she already has a best friend, Izzy realizes it doesn't preclude her from having a perfect match, too.

I'm finishing my books too quickly if you ask me. Which would definitely explain why I'm always low on cash- always needing something new to read. Anyways, Making Mischief was kind of a disappoint after my last two reads. Though I can't say that I expected much to begin. I had found it at a discounted price and decided that I might as well just enjoy a little light reading. Little did I know that I would be half-struggling just to finish it. The heroine in the book, Abby Morland, is a show more hypocrite in many ways. Even though you want her to end up with our gorgeous guy next door, part of you just want them to kiss because it'll signal that the novel was coming to an end. There were a few scenes that were funny and full of wit, but for the most part, the novel didn't hold much. Unless you really have nothing to read, I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. And even if you can buy it for $4.50 plus tax, I suggest going to the local library first. show less
Most real people don't go through elaborate subterfuges like the one in this British chick lit book: Sophy made up a boyfriend Dominic to keep her parents from nagging, but OOPS, she'll need to produce him for her sister's wedding. So she hires Josh and hilarity ensues. Pleasant enough, but it never really rings true.
Not like the movie (The Wedding Date) at all, but it was an easy reading, perhaps what I didn't like about the plot was how insecure Sophy is, but I enjoyed her chaotic life and the romantic tension she has with Josh.
