I read some weird quirky manga. Well kind of. Future Diary is pretty weird. So is Tenchi when you get down to it. BUT WHAT IS GOING ON.

So Seeu and Kaguya have some confusing conversations and guys I think almost everything I remembered about this series was all in Seeu's head/dreams.

But the romance I remember is going full throttle even if I'm sort of like but why.

This is a lot of build up for Book 7. People show more are moving into position, Meshie is having a freaking field day being cryptic and Kura is just... terrifyingly certain of his vision. show less

THE MAD PRINCE BECKONS and shock it turns out Kagami is basically Jack Harkness without the omnisexual prowess. This kid...he messed with time and space to save his sister.

And maybe all the other worlds. I'm a bit hazy on it truth be told.

So Bambi kidnaps Kaguya for Kura, Kura is basically villain-monologuing over Kaguya who is like OH MY GOD STOP I'M JUST AN ORDINARY GIRL AND YOU ARE LYINGGGGGG

Which probably true in some ways. She's kind of a fake out in a way. Kagami wanted to protect her show more but knew to protect her he had to make the others do certain things so he had that prophecy created that told people she was important so people started to protect her but it sort of fell apart because Kura's ambition defies logic but it's fine because Seeu woke up.

Or something.

Whatever.

So the worlds probably won't end any time soon but now everyone is normal and Kagami is gone and Seeu apparently got over his fear of folk touching him to the point where he has sex.

This series was a weird, wild ride and I think too metaphysical sci-fi for me. It got really hard sci-fi pretty quick and my brain could not keep up. show less

I love this man.

Kaguya, finding herself masquerading as a quiet, blanked faced "Princess of Choosing" somehow gets kidnapped because sure. Is there another mode of transportation in this place?

Whisked off to Seeu's decrepit practically uninhabitable castle she basically bullies Seeu into being a better host. One imagines he's really not used to bossy females.

Annnddddd then shit gets real. Meshie show more you're adorable but thick. Bambi also makes a life changing decision after coming to the realization she REALLY misses Kaguya.

Like her life has no meaning without her so sure lemme sign up to "obey" this crazy asshole Kura in hopes it'll get me closer to "saving" Kaguya. Your timing is awful Bambi.

Nan Rymer's translation is smoother (even if yet another translation change occurred - Bambi's horse is now Naja, not Nadja) and feels more natural as well. show less

Sort of. Seeu makes a minor appearance at the beginning and he gets an appearance when we get some backstory courtesy of Kagami meddling with Lagunahaan's coffin, but he's barely here.

I swear he's a hero in this story at some point.

Kaguya is saved by Bambi, a beautiful girl with silver hair and a penchant for lecturing. She explains to Kaguya that hey welcome to not your planet and this is where some of the translation breaks down because she keeps saying "different show more worlds" but they're really Parallel Earths I think.

Kaguya also gets to have a short heart to heart with Kagami, who's all sorts of confused but happy to see her and confirms Seeu is the hero we are looking for (also weirdo braid sage Meshe is a good guy).

So we get some backstory, some character connections, indications why Geos (the seventh world) SUCKS and an overview of the current power Dynamics being fought.

AND YET I'M AS CONFUSED AS KAGUYA. Keep it together Lexie you love this series it's not as bad as all that just keep reading show less
