It is possible for an extended series to have a stumble book or two early on. I feel this book is that first stumble. Yes, we continue to follow the same characters from the first two books. However, this book starts to expand the cast too much. This book is like a filler episode in your favorite TV show. It adds a story line, gives some information, but doesn't advance the overall plot. The action of the first two books is lacking in this book. I read it, will probably reread it, but it show more doesn't hold the Must Read Again status. show less

This is book two of a series with an indeterminate author. Who wrote this book? Was it Bob Mayer or somebody else? I hate pseudonyms. Take credit for it or don't...just don't lie to the readers. t had an engaging plot, interesting characters, and a high level of suspense. Unfortunately, it felt like a bridge connecting the beginning (book1) and the rest of the plot. These must be read in order as it is one continous story..
An excellent sequel to the first book of the series. The fact that the prologue of this book is the epilogue of the last book, and that the story picks up exactly where the last one left off was a nice break from stories where things pick up weeks, months, or even years from where the last one left off.

The author is prone to go into long descriptions of things that don't really add to the story. I don't need to know the exact make and model of gun the main character is using, or each single show more step to putting on a parachute. It did distract from the story a bit, which is why I couldn't give the book 5 stars.

The story is still compelling enough to make the story a joy to follow, while still being light enough that it's easy to put down and pick back up.

This is the end of a series of these books, and it probably makes more sense if you've read the whole lot. That said, I came to it as a result of a free promotion on amazon and read it cold and it still worked for me.

There are shades of von Daniken here, as the author has taken all the conspiracy theories about the ancient civilisations being planted here by aliens and run with them. It is an all action hero saves the world type of book, and very good for when you need to disengage from show more reality and indulge in pure escapism. show less
