In 1987 she became head of development for the McCarran Film Corp., overseeing a roster of twelve feature films. Currently, her screenplay APACHE TEARS was optioned by Northern Lights Productions in Canada.
Jo Leigh's first Silhouette novel, SUSPECT, was awarded BEST FIRST SERIES BOOK by Romantic Times Magazine, garnered the 1994 ROMANCE WRITER OF THE YEAR award from Pike’s Peak RWA, and was a finalist for BEST ROMANTIC SUSPENSE NOVEL OF 1994 by Romance Writers of America. Her first Temptation novel, ONE WICKED NIGHT was a finalist for BEST SHORT CONTEMPORARY NOVEL OF 1998 by Romance Writers of America. She was invited to write one of the launch books for the Harlequin imprint, Blaze, with her book GOING FOR IT! Her 2006 Blaze RELENTLESS was a RITA finalist for BEST ROMANTIC SUSPENSE.
She also ghost-wrote GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL DOLL – THE ANNA NICOLE SMITH STORY for Barricade Books.
Jo teaches writing at workshops across the country and on-line, and is a frequent guest speaker at writing conferences. Her tape on Advanced Plotting from the Dallas Romance Writers of America conference is the best selling tape in RWA’s history.
Jo lives in an incredibly rural area of Utah where her many rescue dogs have room to run and play and her rescue cats are determined to win the International Shedding Award. She spends an inordinate amount of time reading about how the brain works, listening to music and trying not to kill the basil. - Nationality

*I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review*
"Definitely Naughty" was a nice surprise. I had already read another one of the author's books in early 2013 and I liked it a lot, and with this novella I have confirmed Jo Leigh as an author I'm going to start being attentive about.
Aubrey Hayes is starting to get desperate. Hired to design the Christmas window display of the lingerie shop Le Muse, Aubrey is getting out of time and has no ideas... Until one day a trading show more card literally falls from the sky. But it's not any trading card, it belongs to the Hot Guys Trading Card collection, one that features gorgeous men, with their characteristics, contacts, likes and what they are looking for (marry, date or one-night stand). Obviously Aubrey takes it as a signal from above (she is in front of Le Muse, after all) and assumes that man is supposed to be her inspiring muse.
The man on the card is Liam Flynn, a New York City police detective and a complete workaholic, who was convinced all the trading cards featuring him had been destroyed. So, when he is contacted by Aubrey, he decides to meet with her with the intention of recovering the trading card. But Aubrey makes him an offer he can't refuse: to be her inspiring muse until Christmas Eve (when the window display has to be finished), at which time she will give him the trading card. And what exactly is an inspiring muse supposed to do? Lots and lots of hot sex, of course!
Aubrey immediately starts feeling inspired but, as the deadline approaches, her time with Liam is also numbered... As it usually happens, what started as a simple agreement, a merely sexual relation with a deadline, ends up becoming so much more than that. And Aubrey knows her heart will be broken this Christmas...
But also Liam seems to have been inspired by Aubrey and, for the first time, his priority is not his job. Aubrey seems determined to fulfil her part of the aggreement, but can Liam keep his?
A small story, and a fun, exciting, full of Christmas spirit and fast read. Very good! show less

Yowza! If there were warnings on books, this one would say "burning, scorching, sizzling romance ahead." And if there were comment cards to be sent to authors after you read their books, mine to Jo Leigh about HUSH would say "thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me a story with smoking characters, amusing situations, and hot, hot sex!" Just for the record, I don't always read Blaze romances, and I don't always have to have "whoa baby!" romance in a book to enjoy it. But HUSH has it, I show more enjoyed it, and I refuse to be ashamed!
The first in the DO NOT DISTURB continuity series, HUSH is a story filled with guilty pleasures, uninhibited desires, and the shameless desire to do whatever feels good. In other words, it's like a glass of red wine drunk in front of a roaring fire, or that entire carton of Ben & Jerry's Chocolate Monkey that you ate standing in front of the open freezer. A pure, unadulterated delight.
To the world, Piper Devon is Paris Hilton, Tara Reid, and all those other "celebrities gone crazy" young twenty-somethings that do what they want, when they want, and never worry about the consequences. Piper, the daughter of multi-billionaire Nicholas Devon, hotel magnate, displays all the qualities of a rich-girl, spoiled heiress. What no one seems to realize is that her enrollment in NYU in hotel management, followed by the opening of her very own hotel, is more than just a whim. Piper wants something new, distinctive, erotic-something that will have nothing to do with her father, his money, or his hotels.
So she opens Hush, a hotel that she has no qualms in showing off as a showcase to the young, the wealthy, the opulent, the horny. Hush oozes sex, urges its occupants to leave their inhibitions at home, and answers to your every desire. You can be, do, and have anything you want at Hush, which is Piper's plan. The only thing she didn't prepare for is how much she wants approval-from her father, for being a good businesswoman; from the media, for being something other than the spoiled little rich girl; from Trace Winslow, the man who has made it his business to stop Hush from succeeding to save the Devon family name.
Trace and Piper have a past of sorts-she wanted him, he thought she was a bratty child and turned her away. This time around, Piper plans to make it clear as day, that she's all grown-up and knows exactly what she wants-Trace in her bed every evening in the suite she calls home at Hush. When the sheets ignite and tempers flare with this couple, you won't be able to outrun the fire.
HUSH is Harlequin Blaze at its best. A new, unique story line, compelling characters, witty dialogue, and steaming sexual tension, Jo Leigh has written a winner. I can't wait to pick up THRILL ME by Isabel Sharpe, the next book in the DO NOT DISTURB series.
Thanks, Ms. Leigh, for a totally fun, exciting, and hot story! show less

Okay, okay, I admit it! It's been a long while since I've picked up a Harlequin series romance book, for several different reasons. Thankfully, I broke my cold spell and devoured Jo Leigh's NOT-SO-SECRET BABY in about four hours! I'd almost forgotten how good Intrigue books are, but believe me-I'll never forget again!
Jenny Granger was a barely legal age cocktail waitress in Las Vegas when she fell under the spell of C. Randall Todd. A man who oozed charisma, charm, and wealth, Jenny allowed show more herself to be blinded by Todd and his bling-the money that had never seemed all that important while working her way through college suddenly bought her clothes, jewelry, and a limited peace of mind. Todd didn't push her into a romantic relationship; instead, Jenny willingly took the jump on her own, and by then, it was too late. Because Todd, once he had a grip on something or someone, wasn't a man to let go. By force, intimidation, and mental cruelty, he possessed a grip on Jenny that she couldn't shake-until, that is, she enlisted the aid of one of Todd's henchman, Nick Mason, and made her escape.
Now her life is peaceful. She's a single mother with a young son, living in a quiet town where no one knows who she really is or where she came from. Life is the way Jenny wants it-until she wakes one night and discovers that her son, Patrick, is gone, and that Todd has found her hiding place. Now her innocent son is in the clutches of a man who makes Mafia mob bosses look tame by comparison, and Jenny has no choice but to return to Vegas and the ministrations of a man who wants only to make her pay.
Nick Mason is still one of Todd's right-hand men, along with a real baddy named Henry Sweet. Todd is determined to rear his son, Patrick, in his own image as an ungodly-wealthy casino owner and arms dealer, and to make Jenny suffer for her betrayal. It's up to Nick to help Jenny avoid Todd and his sadistic temper, at the same time rescuing Patrick from a life of terror and intimidation. But with his own heart on the line, not to mention his top-secret reason for being in the employ of C. Randall Todd for these past three years, Nick is running out of time-and running out of reasons to avoid Jenny and the emotions she stirs up in him.
Jo Leigh writes nail-biting romantic suspense with heart-pounding emotions and dialogue. Her characters in NOT-SO-SECRET BABY are all so real that you can't help being swept up in this world of love, danger, and passion that she's created. I'm certainly glad I broke my series romance cold spell and picked up this super hot book! show less

Intrigue Me
3.5 Stars
Former police detective turned private investigator, Lisa McCabe, is hired to do a background check on Dr. Daniel Cassidy. To do so, she poses as a volunteer at his clinic. Unfortunately, the attraction between Lisa and Daniel is instantaneous, and Lisa finds it difficult to remain professional when it comes to the sexy doctor.
This is a great book right up until the last few chapters when the keeping secrets trope rears its ugly head.
Lisa and Daniel are both likable show more characters, and their chemistry is scorching. Jo Leigh certainly knows how to write a sizzling sex scene.
The character backgrounds are well developed and interesting although it would have been even better if the details of Lisa's past had been revealed earlier in the story.
The biggest issue with the plot is the secret that Lisa is a private investigator. She has several opportunities to reveal the truth, but constantly finds excuses. Waiting for the other shoe to drop is seriously annoying and undermines the romance.
Despite this, the book is enjoyable, and I will probably go back and read the earlier installments in the series as the trading cards premise is intriguing. show less
