The great bookseller A.S.W. Rosenbach's short stories of biblio-chicanery, ranging from theft to long cons to forgery to murder. Not great, by any means, but Rosenbach knew his books and the stories certainly reflect that knowledge.
A good book often prods the reader to go out and do whatever the book is describing. Right now, I have a hankering to go to an auction house. Rosenbach was one of the great book collectors/dealer of the twentieth century. He ran his business out of Philadelphia. Book collectors would do well to know about A.S.W. Rosenbach and to read this autobiography.
Charming volume with good trivia for any bibliophile. Covers a good range of topics. Dated, but still very interesting.
This book is an anthology of short stories relating to the bibliophilic life. But I didn't find them engaging. I'm not taken with it and you, gentle reader, shouldn't bother.
it was originally published in 1917, and the author was an American Bibliomane of note.
