29 by Mary Sojourner
Stunning work of such intense beauty. Mary has written one of the finest novels I have ever read. Her characters and their home, near the Mojave desert, are compelling and captivating. This is a love story about real people with exceptional capacity to care for each other and the place they love.
Bonelight: Ruin and Grace in the New Southwest (Environmental Arts and Humanities Series) by Mary Sojourner
Beautifully written, really nice self reflection and examination of place.
I thought I was really going to like this book. But about 75 pages in, I was so bored I couldn't take it. The stories didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. I couldn't find anything to relate to. I have never really been a huge short story fan and it's books like this that remind me why.
