Summary: There are many types of pets out there. Every animal requires different types of housing, food, and care. This book teaches children how to care for their pet, and also tells a little about the behavior of different animals.
Reflection: This is a great book for young children wanting to have a pet of their own. It gives real pictures of the different animals, and even gives a chart at the back with housing, lifespans, attention level, and other care facts on it.I love animals. I show more always have. One day when I have my own children I hope they do, too. And if they do, I hope to remember this book when the time comes for them to get their first pet.
Extension ideas: It'd be awesome to bring in some of the different kinds of pets for the children to see and touch. Rabbits, dogs, cats, and birds would be neat to have visit. Another idea would be to have an animal rescue person come in and explain to the children about how to care for them and also share why it's important to make sure you are responsible for a pet. show less

This book goes through one standard day in the desert. It shows many different animals and what they are doing at that time of day. It is a great book for a classroom if the students are learning about habitats, specifically the desert habitats. Grade levels include k-3.
From Asia to North America, seven wondrous wildcats spring to life in 36 photos. Following range maps, kids take a world tour. The pictures are meaningful to 3-5 year olds, and the text targeted toward 6+.
Genre: Informational
Media: Pictures
Summary: This book talks about Where the Big Cats live and how they live in their habitat. I could use this book to talk about animals and their habitats. I could also use this book to teach about different types of cats. This is a good informational because it gets students engaged by the use of pictures. It is also a good example because of the amount of information they include in this book.
