Short biography
I wish I knew more about Mrs. Bacher's biographical data so I could share it here. She was my third grade teacher, and taught both my sisters in third grade as well. Mrs. Bacher was the most wonderful, inspiring teacher a child could have. She encouraged all her students to be more creative and to have an appreciation for learning. She particularly fostered in me a love of literature. I've never read any of her writing, but I wanted to share the little bit I remember about her. She was a great lady.

This was a hard book to read. The story didn't flow smoothly. With that said, I did learn a lot about the Dust Bowl, the Depression, the cattle war, and how people survived. I liked following the Harrington family through all their trials. This is the second book in the series. Perhaps it would have been easier to understand if I had read the first one. I also found several mistakes that were missed during the editing process
I enjoyed this Christian Romance. First, I must say this was a 1990 edition of this book. I voluntarily chose to review this and I've given it a 4.5* rating. There are a lot of bible quotes mentioned in this also. There was some shocking behavior that was forgiven but a lot of growing up for some of the characters in this story. And things were centered around family a lot. A few parts moved a little slow but for the most part, things seemed to happen at a faster rate. A nice winters read.
