The second book in the "This Day" series. The editors take a single, ordinary week day and have American women all over the world keep a diary for that one day. Each "day-diary" includes a description of everything the woman was doing and thinking that day. It's fascinating to read because you see how many different lives there are out there to live. Many are funny, many are sad. This second book had a lot more diaries of women in the armed forces than the first one did. Also they included show more more statistics about what women were doing, which I enjoyed. I know they always have far more submissions of diaries than they could use in one book. In this edition they include many interesting snippets from diaries they weren't able to include in total, which I thought was a nice addition. show less
This was different from any book I have read before. Each chapter was a day diary of a different American woman. What I liked better, though, were the shorter chapters that either included just a few hours from the day or one paragraph. Despite the format, it was slow reading.
Interesting look at one day in the life of a wide variety of women, although a little heavy on very Christian women and women in the military.
This fascinating book is all women's diary entries from the same day and year. It is a little peek into the live of some amazing women from all across the country. It makes me wish I was better and writing down the things that happen to me and they way I feel about those things...
