Summary:
This picture book is about a ladybird that is very lazy and wants to sleep all day. She wanted to find a new sleeping place, however, she did not know how to fly because she was lazy. Therefore, the lazy ladybird hopped onto many different animals trying to find a peaceful sleeping place. All the different animals she hopped on were too loud or active for her to stay on. When she hopped on the elephant, it was finally peaceful for her to sleep untill he sneezed and whipped her right show more off into the air. She then learned that she was flying!

Personal Reaction: This picture book experience, reminded me of a lesson my mom taught me one day when I was little. Just like the ladybird, if I was going to lazy and not want to try new things, it would restrain me from learning.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1. Ask the students if there was anything that they did not learn because they simply were lazy like the ladybird.
2. Have the students get into small groups and draw a collection of animals the ladybird hopped on.
