I went in expecting your run-of-the-mill missing-girl whodunit, but Angela Henry served up a buffet of secrets and lies. Two besties are chilling at the park, and then Brooke vanishes. Ava is the only witness, and it still haunts her. Jump ahead twenty-five years, and suddenly, a mystery woman shows up to film a documentary, ready to dig up the secrets that have been buried for ages.
Thanks to the author and Storm Publishing for the #giftedARC delivered via show more NetGalley.
“Nobody Heard a Thing” hops between timelines and perspectives, which I enjoyed. It’s like flipping through a scrapbook where some pages are all sunshine, and others have you wondering who’s got skeletons in their closet. The pace mostly keeps things moving, but a few chapters dragged. For a book that’s technically short, it felt longer than 300 pages.
Some of the twists were easy to spot, but a few snuck up on me. Henry knows how to stir the pot. There are a couple of characters I might actually grab coffee with, but most of them gave off serious 'don’t leave your drink alone' vibes.
All in all, this book is full of twists, crazy secrets, and people making some terrible decisions.

I must be brutally honest when I first started reading this book I was so done with this book after just a few chapters. In fact, I put the book aside and walked away from it with no plans to pick it up again. Yet, as I was looking for a book to read I came across this book again. I decided to try it again because when I read the summary I did want to read this book. So, I picked it up but without much excitement. Something changed and I found myself getting into the story and Xavier.
So if show more you are thinking about checking this book out be warned that it does start out a little slow but it gets better as you keep reading. I felt for Xavier. This is a good thing as it means I was invested in him and his mission. Also, I thought the story was dark but not so dark that those who like cozy mysteries would not like this book and fans of paranormal novels will enjoy this book as well. show less

The Perfect Affair: An absolutely gripping psychological thriller with a shocking twist by Angela Henry
Paige has discovered her husband, Aaron, is having an affair with his colleague, Cara Morton. He has promised he is going to break it off. But, it does not go as he planned and their lives are changed forever.
These characters and their choices made me want to Gibbs slap each and every one. Everyone of them are keeping secrets and it just might cost all of them!
This is a 3 and 1/2 star read…rounded up. This is twisty and intense. It has just been done several times and it is not a very show more unique storyline.
The narrator, Rachel Handshaw, did a very good job. I enjoyed her cadence. She also had some great voices for the characters.
Need a good, twisted tale of marriage…THIS IS IT! Grab your copy today.
I received this novel from the publisher for a honest review. show less

“The Family Lies” by Angela Henry is a gripping 5-star read brimming with lies, deception, and suspense! Set in Harper’s Ferry, Ohio, the story follows Sabrina, a bookstore employee who lands her dream job working in a private library. However, the house she’ll be working in has a dark history of misfortune for outsiders. Will she truly be safe there?
The narrative unfolds through multiple perspectives, primarily Sabrina’s, as we learn how she found herself in her current show more circumstances. The story also delves into the lives of Belle, who is struggling with her own unique circumstances, and Jared, a police detective. Each character is richly developed, including Theo, the millionaire son who now heads his late father’s company.
As the title suggests, this family—and every character in the story—is entangled in a web of lies. The pacing is masterfully executed, gradually building suspense and delivering twists and turns that keep you hooked until the very end.
This is the second book I’ve read by Angela Henry, and I enjoyed it as much as the first. I can’t wait to see what she writes next!
