Another fine book which would have been an essential part of a cricket library a generation ago but has now been superseded by the internet. Listing the Test stats of every Test player up to the point of publication (late 1970s) as well as a brief pen portrait and the odd photo, it's a fine example of a moment in the time of cricket.

Brilliant reference book - title tells you all you need to know! It's a who's who up until the end of the 1986 season in England. Only eight test playing countries at the time!
A series of not overly amazing or bizarre cricket-related stories. This was probably aimed at readers with slightly less cricket knowledge than a tragic like me knows. Some people may find it amusing enough reading, though.
CMJ's autobiography; subtitle sums it up. Cricket writer, Cricketer editor, MCC President. This is his story
