A book written by a Lutheran mostly for Lutherans in an attempt to encourage them in the modern day. The author does well at showing that there has not been a true "golden age," that every period of time has its difficulties, and that Christians must learn to make the best of the situations provided for them. This book focuses especially on living as a servant, the working out of baptism in life, the need for obedience to Christ, and aspects of the assembly. The author quotes often from show more Luther and others but focuses more on the working of the faith than particular Lutheran theology. Fairly basic and not very helpful for non-Lutherans. show less
