A few years ago, when the Bush junta was bungling the occupation of Iraq, wingnuts defended them by claiming that Truman's occupation of Germany was marred by die-hard "werewolf" resistance. On a whim, I decided to look into the claims.
As it turns out, there were scattered incidents in the postwar occupation of Germany: but the "werewolfs" inflicted somewhat fewer fatalities upon the occupying forces than the Iraqi resistance has - and, once again, our current wingnuts are shown to be show more either liars, or out of touch with reality. show less
