YMMV
As with many books this one contains language of its time. “Negro” is used. Cannibalism is mentioned. Practices such as drinking blood from a skull. Another reviewer used “typical European cultural mindset” and that is a good way to describe it. Somewhat patronizing toward patients who at times are described as “lazy” or “savages”. This is in reference to not providing modern medical care. Albert Schweitzer was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1952.

I worked my way through most of the Landmark Books as a child. This is one of those that impressed me the most, making medical missionary my career goal for a while.
