Too simplistic; I would never have shared this with my little ones. I do like the tradition of crafting a Julenek, though... I wonder how many Norwegians actually do it.
Direct, simple nonfiction about the modern maple sugaring process. One of the most up-to-date books we have on the industry for young kids.
Not really happy with this, it would be fine for very young children but contains only the most basic information.
This is a nonfiction book that examines the process of taking the sap of a maple tree and turning it into maple syrup. Students will be amazed at the number of steps necessary to make maple syrup. The images of students eating pancakes will entice them to want pancakes for breakfast, but I think they will also make students want to read the book.
After reading the book students can bring the necessary ingredients and make Sugar on Snow. The recipe is in the back of the book.
