Personal Reaction:
I really liked this book. I picked it because my father is from Ohio and there was a lot of information in this book that even I didn't know but was written in a way that wouldn't be hard for a child to understand.
Classroom Extension:
1. I would use this to teach my students some basic facts about Ohio.
2. I could use this book to introduce children to the state and begin a pen pal transfer between a school in this state and that way my students would have things to discuss about the state the student they write to are from.
3. I would provide this as a resource for a report on the state.
4. I would have my students draw a map of the state and put 5-10 of their favorite facts about this state to share with the class as a fun way to learn the facts. show less

This is a book of facts about El Salvador. El Salvador as decribed in this book is the smallest country in Central American where most of the Salvadorans live in the countryside farming crops for their families. They also have facts about the food they eat, animals that live there, sports and holidays they celebrate. Many children go to school but many do not finish. There is poverty and not enough teachers and schools for all the children that need it. I think that this book can be used not show more only as a fact book but a book that makes you appreciate what we have here in America. The opprtunities that we have, and varity of choices we are allowed. I think this book would be a good book to assign for that purpose. show less
Easy to read, well organized information. Great starting point for Titanic research.
