A fun and zany fractured fairy tale with a Jewish spin. Lily Bluestein, a skateboarding little blue riding hood, takes her hamentaschen to Granny's Florida condo for the Purim party―until Thaddeus T. Wolfe gets a whiff and tries to trick Lily out of her hamentashen! But this skateboarding-Queen Esther has tricks of her own up her elbow pads. Meet this fun, mighty, and one-of-a-kind Jewish girl as she becomes the heroine of her own Purim story.
This book shares ethnic diversity that young children should be aware of beginning at a young age. There are certain Jewish words in this book that are crucial to understanding the story. This book entails the journey of a young girl whose patience is running thing by being the smallest and youngest person in her family. When you are reading this book, you have to keep an open mind and allow your students to keep an open mind on certain Jewish holidays and traditions. I would read this book show more to a second grade class because I feel as thought they will be able to understand the concept of different holidays and traditions. show less
