Ali Ghalem

A simple jewel of a book. A wife for my son. Note that the women who is the wife is not considered. Is not a person. She is a role to be played and the script is limited. The tone however is gentle and no character is unidimensional. All have feelings, hopes and dreams shaped by the tension of traditions vs individuality. It thoughtfully treads into very private worlds and thoughts. Well done.

this is a great book. simple plain writing about an Arab woman whose husband works overseas. Very moving.
