American History Stories You Never Read in School but Should Have: The Dream by Mara L. Pratt-Chadwick
A very patriotic textbook for kids from the 1800's focussing on American history at the time of the Revolution. It even includes poems and tips on their performance. It was interesting, but the best part about it was how quickly it put me to sleep. Many thanks to the librivox narrator.
Very enjoyable, and short. This is a reproduction of at least part of an old history book from the late 1800s. I don't know that the stories included in it are any more true than the Washington and the Cherry Tree bit that most of us have at least heard, but it gives a glimpse into the morals and imaginations of Americans from 100 years ago, which is something that you can't get from secondary sources.
The book was good, although, I would have liked this a bit more had I been able to read it as a physical copy when I was younger (I read this online at: https://archive.org/stream/storylandstars00chagoog#page/n2/mode/2up). It's an older book, but I like how it was aimed at younger people to teach them about the sky and about concepts that we take for granted, perhaps even more so now. The stories in the end were also good.
Dnf. The Librivox audio quality was too poor.
