Each chapter deals with a different category of clothing (shoes, lingerie, tops pants) and illustrates the major types, with descriptions, historical tidbits, and hints on the best way to wear the item. The book's "pros" are that it's a pretty unique compilation of information and the format is amazingly accessible; cons are that it's definitely aimed at a show more younger audience and what was included or left out of the different chapters is definitely eclectic (why bomber jackets but not aviator jackets, for example?). Overall it's a great mini-encyclopedia for anyone who wants to be able to sound like they know a little bit about fashion. show less

The Look Book takes one hundred years of female celebrities and shows teens and young women how to copy theier most iconic features whether it is from Dorothy Dandridge's pin curls to Cher's disco eyes or Brooke Sheild's full eyebrows circa 1980 to Kat Von D's face tattoos. The written instructions and diagrams are easy to follow for the most inexperienced make-up user. The only downside of this book were the pictures. Some of the pictures failed to captured celeb's iconic look.

This gives a great overview of what things are. Always been confused about sheath dresses or kitten heels? This books tells you what defines them and provides examples.

More of a YA book than an adult book. Some useful info, some stupid suggestions.
