Disclaimer: my rating is based on the quality of the rules. I HAVE NOT YET PLAYED THE GAME. So it is not based on how well the rules play. I hope to play them in the next 30 days or so.
These are a costly set of rules at $35. However the the physical quality of them makes them that much more appealing. Lots of color maps, diagrams, and fabulous Osprey color art are included. These are not easy rules, but much more comprehensible than the Barkerese of DBM or DBA. Included are some sample army show more lists, but for the most part these will be add ons at an extra cost. These are rules with some unfamiliar terms, some additional turn phases, and they desperately need a quick play chart to earn that extra half star. That said, I can't wait to give them a try. show less

A beautiful full-colour book containing miniatures rules for Renaissance wargaming. That is, the 16th to 17th centuries where muskets and shot began to dominate battlefields. Lovely photos of painted miniatures and tabletops. The game is detailed but looks playable.
Well laid out look at the mechanics of the game. Slitherine is currently giving the base game away free (Along with two other free titles) to celebrate their 25th anniversary so color me excited.
Swords and Scimitars: Field of Glory The Crusades Army List: Field of Glory: the Crusades Army Lists: No. 4 by Richard Bodley Scott
Picked these up for the video game to see what all armies had what troops, that it does. Unfortunately it’s not very well illustrated nor does it show a lot of minis. The art is from various Osprey titles, fair, I was just surprised at the lack of details for the actual models.
